Agriturismo “Eglio” comprises 3 beautiful independent apartments with shared 10X5 mt swimming pool. It’s perched in the foothills of the magnificent Apuan Alps at 800 metres above seal level, with breathtaking views towards the Appenine mountain range.
Immersed in chestnut woods and cultivated terraces in the heart of the Garfagnana area, it offers day after day of peace and tranquillity, ideal for a totally relaxed holiday “away from it all”, but within easy walking or driving distance of shops and restaurants.
The three apartments (Erica, Edera and Metato) have been beautifully converted from an old stone barn and chestnut smoking house, preserving the original features.
All have central heating , open log fireplaces, well equipped kitchens with dishwasher, hob, extract hood , oven and fridge. The bathrooms have showers. Each apartment has its own external area with outdoor furniture and barbecue. There are shared laundry facilities.
The salt water swimming pool is 10m long by 5m wide and a constant 1.4m deep. Lounging at the poolside you feel there is nothing between you and the Appenine mountains the far side of the valley.

Eglio agriturismo is only 3 kms far from the start point of the famous path for Pania della Croce, the queen of Alpi Apuane, and from Palestra di Roccia "Le Rocchette"with more then 100 riveted ways from the 4° to the 8b+.
It is also well placed for hillwalkers , being a veritable paradise of waymarked footpaths.
The small medieval towns of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and Gallicano, which have all facilities, are about 20 minutes’ drive away.
The agriturismo is circa 1 hour from the stunning city of Lucca, 1 hr 20 mins from Pisa and 2hrs from Florence.
Where we are :
From Lucca follow the road S.S. n°12 until a crossroads (Esselunga shopping centre) and here turn left, pass through two tunnels and continue along Serchio Valley (S.P.2). Continue up the road which runs straight up the valley bottom always with river on our right and pass towns of Diecimo (18 km) and Borgo a Mozzano (22 km), famous for teh "Ponte del Diavolo" (Devil's Bridge). Continue up the valley until Gallicano. From Gallicano follow indications for Molazzana (4 km). From Molazzana follow indications for Alpe di S. Antonio. |
